Importing Products and Services

OneUp is able to import products and services from your prior solution using a speadsheet.  In order to import, you must use a CSV file (Comma Separated Values) spreadsheet with headers that OneUp can understand.

Attached to this article are example templates for importing into OneUp.  Using a program like  Google™ Docs Spreadsheet, Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers.app, or OpenOffice.org Spreadsheets, build a spreadsheet that matches the template below. Any data that doesn't fit this import template cannot be imported into OneUp.

Bringing your spreadsheet into OneUp

Use the action Import Products and Services to bring your spreadsheet into OneUp (in Sales - More - Products and Services - [︙] button - Import Products and Services).

 Column Descriptions

Item Name:  The Name for your item. (Required)
Item Number:  The Product Code for your item.
Type:  Item Type. Your options are: Product or Service (Required)
Manage Inventories:  For a Product, fill this with “Manage Inventories” to record inventory movements.
Description:  Description of the item.
Family:  Family of the item. The Family must exist already in ONE UP in order for it to be used on import.
Unit:  Unit of measure for the item (MUST already be existing in ONE UP).
Sales Tax Code (for non US only)  The VAT code (collected) that is to be set as default in your product, must exist already in OneUp before the import of the file.
Sales Price:  Sales price of the item (format currency, without currency symbol, 2 digits).
Income Account:  The income account number for the product or service, must exist already in OneUp before the import of the file.
Purchase Tax Code (for non US only)   The VAT code (deductible) that is to be set as default in your product, must exist already in OneUp before the import of the file.
Purchase Price:  Purchase price of the item (format currency, without currency symbol, 2 digits)
COGS Account:  The expense account or COGS account for products, must exist already in OneUp before the import of the file.
Inventory Account:  The inventory asset account for the a product with Manage Inventories, must exist already in OneUp before the import of the file.
Receiving location:  Location into which your product will be received into inventory. Please note that this location must already exist in OneUp before you import.
Delivery Location:  Location from which your product will be solde from inventory. Please note that this location must already exist in OneUp before you import.
Quantity on Hand:  Count of products in inventory at the time of import. This will not affect your accounting. Quantities can be updated later with New Inventory Count Sheet.
